The West Midlands, where our Jazz Trio performsTowns, cities and regions have an influence on the style of music, whether it is the 'English Countryside' feel of Vaughan Williams, the strength of Elgar's Victorian Malvern, or the skirl of Northumbrian Pipe tune. Of The West Midlands, has been said:- " "The Black Country is the industrial region to the west of, and separate from, Birmingham in the Midlands of England, the West Midlands. It gained its name in the mid nineteenth century due to the smoke from the many thousands of ironworking foundries and forges and the nature of the countryside which had been spoiled by the working of shallow and relatively thick (30ft) coal seams. The region was described as 'Black by day and red by night' by Elihu Burritt, the American Consul to Birmingham in 1862 and other authors, from Dickens to Shenstone refer to the intensity of manufacturing in the Black Country and its effect on the landscape and its people. Today the Black Country is made up of most of the four Metropolitan District Council areas of Dudley, Sandwell, Walsall and Wolverhampton and the collections and displays are derived from throughout these areas. " "Jazz will endure just as long people hear it through their feet instead of their brains."~ John Philip Sousa Click to Enter database [Jazz Trios in The West Midlands for your wedding] [About Jazz Trios] [Ensembles in The West Midlands wedding music repertoire] [About The West Midlands] [About music in The West Midlands] [About Wedding Venues] [About Wedding Ceremonies registrars, ministers and music] [About kinds of music such as classical, jazz or folk] [Frequently Asked Questions FAQs] [Ensembles1] [Ensembles2] [Ensembles3] [Ensembles4] [Links] [Home Page] | | |
